Wyatt | Class of 2027 Senior Session | Skagit Valley Senior Photographer

There are senior sessions that are beautiful, and then there are senior sessions that tell a story. Wyatt’s session was one of those. One of my favorite parts of being a senior photographer is getting to preserve this exact season of life — not just what someone looks like, but who they are. The clothes they wear, the places they love, the confidence they’re growing into, and sometimes even the people who are part of their story.

I’ve known Wyatt since photographing him at 3 months old, so photographing his senior portraits felt incredibly full circle. It’s hard to believe the little boy I photographed all those years ago is now getting ready for his senior year. We spent the evening along the Skagit River, chasing that warm summer light. From relaxed portraits in the tall grass to the shoreline at sunset, every location fit Wyatt perfectly. He was easygoing, confident, and up for anything, which always makes for an incredible session. His girlfriend joined us for a few photos. I know some photographers avoid including high school relationships in senior sessions because life changes.

My perspective is a little different.

Senior portraits are meant to preserve this chapter of life. Years from now, these photos won’t just remind Wyatt what he looked like — they’ll remind him of the people, friendships, and memories that made his senior year what it was. Whether relationships last forever or become cherished memories, they’re still part of the story.

And honestly…those sunset photos might be some of my favorite from the entire session.
