Spring in Skagit Valley, WA | A Daffodil Session

Even though this session was photographed a couple of years ago, the daffodil fields continue to be a timeless backdrop for spring sessions, and the experience I offer today is built on moments just like this one.

We lucked out with a beautiful evening. Zöe came all the way from Florida to tour colleges, and we only had one evening that would work with her schedule for her senior session. The weather wasn’t looking promising — the morning was gloomy and rainy, but the skies cleared just in time. We were beyond thrilled.

Spring in Skagit Valley can be unpredictable, but that’s part of the magic. The soft light after the rain gave us the dreamiest glow, and the daffodils were at their peak — endless rows of yellow stretching in every direction. Zöe was a natural in front of the camera and brought such a joyful energy to the session. Even with travel, a tight timeline, and weather uncertainty, everything came together beautifully.

Senior sessions don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Sometimes the best photos come from rolling with the moment, trusting the process, and embracing what the evening gives us. This session was a perfect reminder of that. Here are some of the pretty images we captured from our time together in the fields.
