A Forest Walk to the Creek - A Session Full of Wonder

There’s something timeless about families in nature…bare feet near the water, soft giggles echoing under trees, and the sweet chaos of little ones exploring the world around them. The Burkins family brought all of that and more to their session, and it was such a joy to capture these moments with them.

From the start, I could feel the warmth between them. Whether it was big brother’s adventurous spirit near the creek, dad’s sturdy shoulders carrying him across a bridge, or the quiet strength of mom holding her 2-month-old newborn close, every frame told a story of connection, love, and the beautiful rhythm of young family life.

I especially loved watching big brother discover the magic of water and rocks—so focused, so curious. Those tiny details often become our most treasured memories later on. And baby’s tiny toes peeking out of the blanket? Absolutely precious.

This session was full of movement and meaning: from tender snuggles by the log to playful steps across the red bridge, it felt like watching a love story unfold in real time—only now, with a few more characters added to the cast.

Thank you, Burkin family, for inviting me into this season of your life. May you always find joy in the little things, and may these images bring back the laughter, the stillness, and the love you felt on this sweet summer evening.
